The
goals of the network are
|
|
1.
|
 To
sensitize policy makers to prioritize safe motherhood as
an important issue and advocate them to allocate adequate
government, donors and private sector resources and services
for maternal and neonatal health.
|
|
2.
|
To disseminate
standardized safe motherhood messages (using HMG guidelines)
at different level through its members.
|
|
3.
|
To positively
influence people’s knowledge, attitudes and behaviors towards
making pregnancy and childbirth safe.
|
|
4.
|
To advocate
on safe motherhood and disseminate standardized safe motherhood
messages at the community and family level through formation
of self-sustainable district networks.
|
|
5.
|
To raise
funds and manage support activities identified by different
SMN committees.
|
|
6.
|
 To
increase capacity of its members to raise their voices on
safe motherhood issues through orientation and training.
|
|
7.
|
 To
identify and disseminate the information on national/international
workshops, seminars, conferences and training opportunities
on safe motherhood and related issues to its members as
and when arises.
|
|
8.
|
To
strengthen commitment and coordination between HMG, donors,
NGOs, INGOs and CBOs towards achieving the objectives of the
Safe Motherhood Network effectively. |
